Friesian horses look no further than Vanderploeg Friesians. Klaas
Vanderploeg, a very successful Holstein dairy cow breeder from Friesland,
immigrated with his family to Michigan in 1991. The promise of a new
challenge sparked their move to a new homeland. After spending 6 years
building up their 1,300 cow dairy, the Vanderploegs felt it was time
again for another new challenge. Klaas decided to turn his experienced
eye for cows to the Friesian horse. An animal of grace and beauty, we
have imported some of the finest bloodlines of Friesian horses. All of
our mares are stars with full pedigrees except for the full sisters
Wieke fan Schuilenburg and
Hieke fan Schuilenburg who are both model mares. After only
breeding Friesians since '98, we have produced two FPS approved
stallions Tonis 393 and
Doaitsen 420. We pride
ourselves on having some of the finest Friesians in North America. The
judges agree, take a look at our '99, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004 show
results.
