Klaas Vanderploeg, a very successful Holstein dairy cow breeder from Friesland, immigrated with his family to Michigan in 1991. The promise of a new challenge sparked their move to a new homeland. After spending 6 years building up their 1,100 cow dairy, the Vanderploegs felt it was time again for another new challenge.
Klaas decided to turn his experienced eye for cows to the Friesian horse. An animal of grace and beauty, we have imported some of the finest bloodlines of Friesian horses. All of our mares are stars with full pedigrees except for our four model mares: full-sisters Wieke fan Schuilenburg and Hieke fan Schuilenburg plus Wieke's Tsjerk daughter: Willy Wieke P. Tjallina W. is the fourth model mare.
